Pen & Ink and Watercolor Pencil (Adults)

Six consecutive Friday afternoons, 1-3pm ET. April 5, 12, 19 ,26, May 3, 10

Maximum: 9 students (minimum 4)

Instructor Sandy Williams will guide students in the use of several types of pens to complete group exercises concentrating on line. She will then continue with the introduction of watercolor pencils. After the group exercises students are encouraged to create their own original work using any combination of pen & ink and watercolor pencils of their choice.

Materials provided: a black art pen, crowquill pen, white gel pen, and a ballpoint pen.

Student must purchase these materials:

• Pens (some will be provided, you are welcome to bring your own,)
• Paper - preferably hot press 140# watercolor paper (any smooth, heavier paper that will take water is fine)
• Ink - black waterproof (you may wish to use colored ink for your own original work)
• Watercolor pencils - Derwent & Albrecht Durer brands are recommended, however there are many other great options.
• Watercolor palette
• Watercolor brushes - small to medium
• Pencil & eraser
• Artist tape and support for board for your work (foam core, matt board or masonite to tape your paper onto while working on a piece)
• Water container
